Scarf Tricks for Travel: How I Pack One Scarf and Style It 3 Ways

By Denise Ho

We’ve all been there: you want to look chic on vacation, but your suitcase says otherwise. The number one rule of smart packing is versatility—bringing items that can do double (or triple) duty.

The secret weapon? One oversized scarf and a tiny accessory -  Kitdo.

This clothing magnet transforms a simple square of fabric into a entire travel wardrobe. Here is how to pack one scarf and wear it three unique ways during your trips.

THE TWO-WAY TOP (NECK to WAIST)

Fold the scarf into a triangle and drape it over your chest, with the point facing down. Wrap the ends around your back, cross them under your opposite arm, and bring them up to your shoulder. Secure in place with the Kitdo clothing magnet.

THE EFFORTLESS HALTER TOP

First, fold the scarf into a triangle. Take the Kitdo clothing magnet, thread the two ends of the scarf through its holes, and bring it up to your neck to secure the top portion. With the top now fastened, let the rest of the fabric hang down. Finally, take the two loose ends at the bottom and tie them together around your waist.

THE ONE-SHOULDER SLEEVE TOP

First, identify the two longest ends of the scarf and tie them together around your waist to secure the base. Next, take the excess fabric hanging down from the bottom and pull it up, threading it through one of the Kitdo holes. Then, bring the fabric that is now across your back toward the front of your neck and loop it through the other hole. Finally, drape that fabric over your shoulder and tie the ends together to form a sleeve.

THE VERDICT

Packing light doesn’t mean looking boring. With just one scarf and a Kitdo clothing magnet, I can go from a day lying under the sun to a night out without ever going back to my hotel room.
