FAQs

KITDO is a two-piece magnetic accessory that unlocks the hidden potential of your closet. With its powerful, garment-friendly magnets, it lets you sculpt, drape, and connect fabric in endless ways—no sewing, no damage. It’s the tool that proves the most revolutionary piece in your wardrobe is already hanging in it.

KITDO is crafted from lightweight aluminium, making it durable yet easy to handle. It has a high-shine finish achieved through PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology—a dry coating process that boosts shine and durability without using water. The accessory includes two strong magnet inserts, each with a fitted cover piece on both sides, ensuring a secure hold and a premium look and feel.

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. Think of it as a robot machinist controlled by a computer. Instead of a person using hand tools to cut and shape materials, a CNC machine follows a digital design to carve out precise parts from metal, plastic, or other solid materials. It works kind of like a sculptor—starting with a solid block (called "stock") and carefully removing material until the exact shape is left.

We make Kitdo using CNC because it gives us the precision we need to get every tiny detail just right. It ensures each piece is perfectly crafted, with the clean lines and high-quality finish our customers expect.

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. It's a fancy way of adding a super-thin, durable coating to a product.

Think of it like a high-tech "paint job"—but instead of using liquid paint, the coating is turned into a gas and bonded to the surface at the molecular level. This happens inside a vacuum chamber, which keeps everything clean and ensures the coating sticks perfectly.

We use PVD coating on Kitdo because it gives our products a premium finish and exceptional durability that lasts. It's what allows us to offer beautiful color options—from classic gold to deep black—while keeping that sleek, high-quality look you love. Plus, it means your Kitdo will stay looking great even with daily use.

Despite its sturdy appearance, KITDO is surprisingly lightweight at just 40 grams—that’s about the same weight as 3 tablespoons of sugar.

KITDO is designed to be versatile, but its magnetic hold works best depending on the fabric type:

  • For lightweight, smooth fabrics like silk, cotton, linen, and scarves, KITDO attaches securely using its magnets. These thinner materials allow the magnets to hold firmly in place without causing any damage to the fabric. You can use KITDO to add textures, change the silhouettes, and resize your clothes by looping and bonding fabrics together.

  • For thicker, textured fabrics such as chunky knits and heavy wool coats, KITDO is better suited to be worn as a brooch. Due to the weight and texture of these materials, the magnets may not hold as securely, but it still makes for a stylish accessory. For example, you can use KITDO to secure your scarf on top of your coat for a stylish, layered look.

Like any finely finished accessory, KITDO may develop scratches or dents if it comes into contact with hard surfaces. To help keep it looking its best, every KITDO comes with a microfiber pouch. This pouch is designed to protect your KITDO while stored and can also be used as a polishing cloth to maintain its high-shine finish.

First, check the scratch: Run your fingernail over it.

  • Can't feel it? It's light—just use metal polish.
  • Can feel it? It's deeper—you'll need to sand first.

For light scratches:

  1. Apply aluminum polish to a soft cloth
  2. Rub in circular motions
  3. Buff clean and repeat if needed

For deeper scratches:

  1. Wet-sand gently with fine-grit paper (800→1500 grit), going with the grain
  2. Keep surface wet while sanding
  3. Finish with metal polish to restore shine

Quick tips:

  • Always test on a hidden spot first
  • Be gentle—aluminum is soft
  • Never use steel wool

Sand in the same direction as the grain.

Yes—aluminum is highly water-resistant. It naturally forms a protective oxide layer that prevents rust and water damage.

However:

It can corrode in salt water or harsh chemicals

For everyday use (rain, splashes), it's totally fine

For your Kitdo: Occasional water exposure won't hurt it. Just rinse and dry if it gets salty or dirty.

Yes, sustainability is at the heart of KITDO's design:

  • Manufacturing: KITDO is produced using a closed-loop process, which means materials can be reused repeatedly with minimal waste. The casing is made primarily from aluminium, a durable and recyclable material.
  • Packaging: Our box is made from 100% recyclable paper and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), ensuring it comes from responsibly sourced wood.

Pouch: The included microfiber pouch is made from biodegradable material, offering an eco-friendly way to protect and polish your KITDO.
